Check out this blog entry for tips on how to blog

04/13/2009

This post, written by Alex Newman of USA Today and the University of Maryland’s j-school, provides an excellent example of the kind and style of blog entries we need to be posting in Com300.

It has a summary lead. Its first few paragraphs are “reported.” It uses attribution throughout to show the source of the material from which it’s borrowing. The remainder is guarded analysis, based largely on Prof. Newmans experience as a journalist.

Check out the tone. It’s modulated restrained, written with authority.
